We are a Christian community development organization engaging with people in our community to explore subjects such as:
• Access to resources available to middle class but often not to people in poverty.
• Providing support to the local community to identify and solve systemic neighborhood problems.
• Spiritual support in organizing local congregations and developing “home grown” leadership.
• Working through our neighborhood community center to work with the children in understanding the personal resources they need for a successful life.
We envision healthy, functional neighborhoods from McKinley to Shaw and First to Blackstone with neighbors gathering, collaborating, creating safe, livable, walk-able spaces, and helping each other in a spirit of community.
We value the personhood of the individual; the love that Christ has for each and the reflection of that love in us; and the respect due to all people.
Build A Child
Build-a-Child is both an after-school and summer educational experience for children based upon the development of assets that every child needs for success in life. Build-a-Child equips children to thrive, giving them the tools to grow into competent and confident adults.
Granny’s Park Community Center
4141 Ministries manages a community center for the City of Fresno at Granny’s Park in a high-crime, economically challenged neighborhood bordered by Blackstone Ave, Highway 41, Ashlan Ave., and Dakota. Ave. Programs include Build A Child, Saturday sports, block parties, and Granny’s Park Community Church.
Community Organizing and Development
4141 Ministries is involved with the Better Blackstone Association and works to organize neighbors through Asset Based Community Development models to address neighborhood issues and solutions.
